MOUNTAIN LIFE MAGAZINE

Founded in 2021 and published twice a year, Mountain Life Rocky Mountains is dedicated to showcasing the natural beauty of the Alberta and BC Rockies and surrounding ranges. It’s the newest mag in the Mountain Life family, an award winning publishing house making magic through regional mountain storytelling across Canada since 2003.

Through world-class photography, thought-provoking and humorous editorial, and an inside line on what’s up in the Rockies, our goal is to shed some light on the rich and varied history, culture, people and environmental issues of the Canadian Rockies.

Die-hard locals, wide-eyed tourists and mountain-culture enthusiasts from all walks of life turn the pages of Mountain Life to stay informed, get inspired and keep their passion for the mountains stoked.

Highline Magazine

HIGHLINE IS SOUL FOOD FOR MOUNTAIN PEOPLE

I co-founded Highline Magazine in 2008 and was publisher and creative director from that time until it’s close in 2016.

Highline Magazine was a free, semi-annual print magazine distributed in local hotspots throughout the Rockies. The mag was known for its high-quality, curated storytelling; knack for finding off-the-beaten-path perspectives on mountain issues; beautiful and intelligent design and photography; and our wild and well-loved local events.

Canmore Commons

Canmore Commons is an independent website founded in January 2017 by journalist Colette Derworiz and myself. It is a web-based publication that provides context and resources that empower the Bow Valley community with a broader understanding of the unique challenges related to urban development and the environment.

Banff Centre for arts and creativity

As editor of the Banff Centre Blog (now known as Banff Centre Stories), I collaborated with representatives from all departments — visual arts to performing arts, literary arts to mountain culture — helping them to capture stories about the resident artists and performers, and publishing these weekly on the platform.

Galleries West Magazine

This award-winning website provides timely information about art and artists in communities large and small across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the North. From 2013-2016, my role was as online editor of the publication. During this period, we migrated all of the print content from 11 years of print publishing onto the digital MetroPublisher platform.

The following year, Galleries West was awarded “best digital presence” by the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association.
